When Comedy Went to School is a terrific documentary about the Catskill Mountains, which from the 30’s to the 60’s was the training grounds for comedians such as Larry King, Jerry Lewis, Jerry Seinfeld, etc. The list goes on and on. All of these people are in the movie, so not only is it a great view of a ton of American history, but it’s funny because all of these people are being themselves and telling jokes. So, because it’s fun, its enjoyable. It does a great job of telling what was going on in America, both politically and socially. It’s a great piece of history. As far as documentaries go, most are so serious you want to set your hair on fire, but this one is just plain fun. Four and a half stars.
