What Doesn’t Kill You
What Doesn’t Kill You – Movie Review
What Doesn’t Kill You, the movie, reveals the true life drama that writer/director Brian Goodman underwent in his struggle to honor the people he loved – on both sides of the law. For two boys on the crime-filled streets of Boston’s Southie neighborhood, a life on the wrong side of the law seems like a natural choice. But as the two childhood friends (played by Mark Ruffalo and Ethan Hawke) grow up, the stakes grow.
“I thought this was wonderful. Ethan Hawke, Mark Ruffalo play two men whose lives become tangled up with the mob in South Boston. I thought Hawke and Ruffalo were terrific together. The film was based on the life of the director Brian Goodman (who actually plays a bad guy in the film) and though we have seen all this before, I thought this movie really cooked.”
