Tron: Legacy – Movie Review

Sam Flynn, the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn, looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 20 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant, father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Tron: The Legacy, Unfortunately, this should probably be called Tron, the Noisy Bore. I mean, I know that the movie when it was done in, I believe 1989, was considered ahead of it’s time, and did not do very well, and had Jeff Bridges somehow going into The Grid. And it seemed prescient, I mean if you look at a lot of the stuff that they did then, it seems prescient. Now it just seems like a noisy video game. I know it is supposed to be the hot movie of the Christmas season and presumably all the computer geeks will watch it. But, I just found it not very interesting. I liked the killer Frisbees to begin with and the idea that you could make your own either motorcycle or airplane on your own, but it didn’t enthrall me at all. As I said, I thought it was a noisy bore. One star.
