Transcendence is goofy, but ultimately likable movie starring Johnny Depp. He plays a researcher in the field of artificial intelligence, and his wife is played by Rebecca Hall, and his best friend is played by Paul Bettany. We meet them at a conference where they are deciding how artificial intelligence is going to take over the world. They are talking about a concept that is not unknown called singularity, where man and machine, transcend and become one, HG Wells talked about it 150 years ago. The most interesting thing about this is how the enemy has become the internet and technology. This one takes an awful long time to get to the point, it scared the living daylights out of me a couple of times, and there are several logical holes you could drive a truck through, but you can sit back and enjoy it, because it is a little goofy and vaguely endearing, 3 stars.
