The Third Story
The Third Story – Theater Review
Kathleen Turner joins playwright Charles Busch in a new comedy that delights in the stories we tell to make sense of our lives. The campy comedy tells three stories: a mother and son screenwriting team in 1940s Hollywood, a princess who makes a deal with an ancient witch and a mob queen who forms an alliance with a dubious scientist. Think gangster flicks, fairy tales and sci-fi B-movies
You either love Charles Busch or you don’t. I think he’s very talented. But I don’t think this particular play is very good theater. If you’re a Charles Busch or Kathleen Turner fan you may want to go see Third Story. If you aren’t a fan of these actors, I’d probably pass, because in terms of a theatrical event that’s able to stand on its on, it does not.
