The Kids Are All Right
The Kids Are All Right – Movie Review
Two children conceived by artificial insemination bring their birth father into their family life.
The Kids Are All Right is receiving a huge amount of publicity for all the wrong reasons. It’s receiving a huge amount of buzz because Annette Bening and Julianne Moore play lesbians and they end up kissing each other quite a lot. The real reason this movies should be getting so much attention is because it’s incredibly well acted, it’s incredibly well-written, and it talks about things that are universal in terms of family, raising children, and even adultery. The cast is uniformly terrific, including, as I mentioned, Ms. Moore and Bening. Also Mark Ruffalo plays basically the snake in the Garden of Eden. Josh Hutchinson is also there and is developing into a wonderful actor. Mia Wasikowska, who starred as Alice in Alice in Wonderland, proves she is even better than before. This is a movie that really shouldn’t be missed. If you’re uncomfortable with the issue of women kissing each other, well get over it and go see this movie. Four and a half stars.
