THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST

SYNOPSIS

JOY’S REVIEW

This is a story that stars the adorable Neil Patrick Harris and it’s really the only reason to go see this movie.  A couple comes up from Dover, Delaware, with a five year old, and they just want to get their kid into a good private school kindergarten.  Now why they want to get the kid in a good private school is completely ignored.  This movie could have probably worked as satire, except the language is so crude and so rude.  Chris McDonald plays a hound dog of chairman of the board at the school and delights in the sadistic hoops people go through to get their kid into a good private school. Again, it could have been a good satire, but it’s just so crude and so rude, it really, it’s hard to watch from a satire point of view. I guess this is the legacy of Hangover where everybody tries to be as crude and rude as possible. I’ll give it two stars.
