The Adventures of TinTin

JOY REVIEW

This is from Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. It’s a 3D movie that is based on the internationally beloved and irrepressible characters created by Herge.  Tintin is the curious young reporter, who is played by Jamie Bell, and his loyal dog, Snowy, as they discover a ship model that has an explosive secret. The bad guy is Ivan Sakharine, played by Daniel Craig, what fun!  We also have part of the Haddock family, Captain Haddock played by Andy Serkis, and we’ve got two bumbling detectives played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, so the voice talents are terrific. This is a graphic novel come to life. I’m not sure what we would actually call it, whether it’s stop action or a visual effects team, but it’s amazing. It’s somewhere between animation and stop action, and I thought it was wonderful to watch. I liked the story. I liked the kids. I just thought it was a really fun experience. Give it four stars
