Tanner Hall is one of those movies that probably is autobiographical, and probably would not have been made if the name of the people wasn’t fairly well known and fairly well financed. It stars Rooney Mara, who will be the new Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but the movie is really stolen by her co-star, Georgia Kind. The story is that there are three girls who are friends at boarding school, and a fourth girl joins them who is up to no good, even though she seems to be a goodie two shoes. She’s kind of the Eddie Hascall (remember Leave It To Beaver?) of the boarding school, in that she appears to be nice but is really a little snot. The problem is that you really don’t care very much. Tom Everett Scott kind of steals the movie as a sleazy horn dog, but there really is not much of a movie to steal. Two stars.
