Skyfall is the latest in the James Bond series, this is the 50th Anniversary and Daniel Craig’s third. This is two separate movies as far as I’m concerned. This is directed by Sam Mendes, who is a terrific director, stars Javier Bardem as the bad guy who is kind of a blonde psychopath who says he is the dark side of James. The story, which has a thrilling start, is that James is shot and the rest of the movie is whether or not he should be put out to pasture or is up to snuff. Judi Dench as M and how complicated their relationship is. The second half of the film is significantly better than the first and Albert Finney makes a cameo appearance. This was not one of my favorite Bond movies. It’s a bit darker and they talked about putting more humor in it, but it really doesn’t have much. Of the Daniel Craig Bond films, this was probably my least favorite. Three stars.
