JOY’S REVIEW

“Sin Nombre” is a movie that is really grabbed from the headlines. It’s the story of a Mexican boy who is in a menacing gang, and a young woman from Honduras, both of whom want to go to the United States. Their paths cross when the boy saves the young woman from being raped by a member of his gang, while traveling with her father and brother. The value of the movie isn’t so much in the plot, but in the characterization of two very talented actors, and the fact that it is so timely. It’s not an easy movie to watch, but it is engrossing. You will get caught up with the characters and their lives, and it’s certainly not sugar coated. I would give it three stars.
