JOY’S REVIEW

This is a big brash Broadway musical that follows the movie that had Terence Stamp and Hugh Weaving and Guy Pearce in it. And it’s just plain wonderful. I mean I had heard from people that it was really fun, but not very good and I disagree. The first act is razzle dazzle and in your face and sequins and fabulous costumes, but the second act actually has some serious emotion in it. I thought it was wonderful. Four and a half stars. I think you’ll have a great time. It’ll be sort of the drag Mama Mia, — although that may be a bit redundant. It will play forever because first of all, it’s fun. The costumes are unbelievable. It’s going to win huge awards for the costumes. The choreography is adorable. Basically you don’t need to speak much English because the songs are It’s Raining Men, I Say A Little Prayer. lots of Madonna, Material Girl. It’s really fun. You’ll have a great time there. Four and a half stars. Covered with sequins.
