Point Blank

JOY REVIEW

Point Blank is a terrific French film, and at a mere 84 minutes the only thing you are worried about is that some American producer will take it and make it over with a lousy cast and make it a less good movie. This is really everything you go to the movies for. It’s interesting, it’s suspenseful, it’s got great chases, it has people you care about and it even has great acting.  The story follows a loving couple who are expecting their first child and get inadvertently involved with violence when he, who is studying to be a nurse, resuscitates a patient who seems to have been in an accident but is nearly killed by a doctor disconnecting his life support.  The hero is followed home by these mysterious minions who kidnap his wife and tell him that she will only be returned if he frees the patient.  I won’t spoil any surprises, but suffice it to say you will be entertained and your fingernails may be significantly shorter by the end of the movie. Four and a half stars — oh let’s give it five stars, what the heck.
