My Sister’s Keeper
Sara and Brian Fitzgerald’s life with their young son and their two-year old daughter, Kate is forever altered when they learn Kate has leukemia–
“My Sister’s Keeper” is a movie that’s really good and no one’s going to go see it. The reason no one is going to go see it is it’s a story of a teenager, who is dying of leukemia. I’m not giving away the plot because that’s revealed very, very early on. The movie has got two beautiful people. Jason Patric and Cameron Diaz play mom and dad. We have Kate, who is Sophia Vassilieba, and her younger sister, Anna, who describes herself as the designer baby, who is Abigail Breslin, who is the narrator of the story, explaining that she was born to be spare parts for her sister. Alec Baldwin plays a lawyer, John Cusack plays a judge. You can see it’s really the A list in terms of the cast, but the problem is the subject matter. Having said that, bring your Kleenex. It’s also a very honest movie about how one very ill child affects the whole marriage and the whole family. It’s a really good movie. It’s worth seeing. Five stars.
