It is playing downstairs at Sophia on West 26th Street. This is a man who has a self-described obsession with Frank Sinatra, and really sometimes kind of sounds like him, though sometimes not. I think the two groups that it’s going to appeal to the most are the New York Jewish community, because there were a lot of inside jokes, and the New York Italian community, because there are a lot of inside jokes. If you fall into either category, you may have a little less of a struggle here with a guy who sounds sort of like Frank Sinatra part of the time, and talks about his life, and not a whole lot about Frank Sinatra. And apparently there was one time, where they met briefly. But I think that a lot of Frank Sinatra’s life is already known and you’re not going to learn a lot here, so the question is do you care about Cary’s life? If the answer is yes, then you’ll love this; if not, not so much. The music was fun to hear, but sometime he sounds more like Frank Sinatra than others. Two stars.
