Marley is, as you might expect, a biography of Bob Marley. There are some things about him I didn’t know. I mean maybe all of you guys did know that he had a white father and a lot of half brothers and sisters and died at 36 of melanoma with 11 children to his name. This is a two and a half hour film, which is kind of long for a documentary about one person, but the most fun part about it is really the music and understanding how he came to be who he was and how stubborn he was. But given the fact that it’s that long, gloss over all of his relationships, he was somewhat of a horn dog, let’s be honest about it. And while they do have interviews with various women, it’s not clear what order and we don’t actually hear about all the children, but having said that I mean it’s clearly kind of a powder puff piece and you do feel that you sort of know part of him and certainly know his music better and he was certainly involved with some very gorgeous women and some very smart women. So if you like Bob Marley, you’ll probably think this is fabulous. If you’re not so interested, you’ll probably still like the music. So I’d give it at least three and a half stars.
