Paul, a young art student from Mexico lives in Los Angeles where he meets Sofi, who is visiting from Canada. After one night together they fall in love and their long distance relationship begins. The story is told in a fragmented way, much like our brain records memories.
Macho is a movie which actually has some moments to it that is both directed and starring the same person. Basically, you have to be very good to be able to pull this off. It’s the story of a young man who deals with how we remember love and how the relationship works. And part of it is very charming, it certainly does have some moments that resonate, how they meet, how they fall in love, how they kissed for the first time and how they stay together or not. But it does seem a little bit amateurish. On the other hand, there is some value here, so I will give it three stars.
