“Leave the World Behind” is a Rock documentary based on a group that I’d never heard of, they are not exactly musicians, they are three DJs from Sweden, whoa are known, some of you will be nodding your heads, other will be scratching their heads, they are the Swedish House Mafia. The do Techno music, which kinda of fun to dance to, I’m not sure how much you can listen in concert. This is the story of three friends who come together and become more successful than they ever imagined, and decided as they got older, each of them have kids, don’t know if they are married, but they all have girls they are with, and they become huge stars. This documentary follows them on their world tour where they play 50 different venues. They decide before they launch the tour, that when it is over, they are going to break up, because it isn’t fun for them anymore, and they decide to break up. It is a very odd documentary, in that you are not watching the break up, but you see some of the things that lead up to that, and how you can walk away from fame when at its pinnacle, it’s just very thoughtful. And as I said, I didn’t know anything about them, techno music is not my favorite. The concert footage all looks the same, with lots of screaming people with their hands in the air. They nominated for a Grammy and they had one song on the charts. The documentary is really charming and gives a completely different look at stardom and Swedes I guess, and concerts and touring. I give it 3 stars
