Joan Rivers Live
Joan Rivers Live – Theater Review
Comedian JOAN RIVERS presents an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on “Celebrity Apprentice,” Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, reality TV and award show fashion.
Pick of the Week!
Joan Rivers Live; Joan Rivers, yes that Joan Rivers, has got a show down at 403 West 42nd which is called the Laurie Beechman Theatre down in the basement. Tickets are $30 and then I think there’s a $15 minimum for food, yada yada. Joan donates all the proceeds to God’s Love We Deliver. If you have never seen Joan live up in person, you’re in for a shock or a treat depending on your sensibility: the audience is primarily gay men. And it’s Joan at her vintage best. I’ve known Joan for years, through her clean years and through her raunchy years, and this is certainly raunchy. She’s a woman who’s really at the top of her game, having a great time. And she takes questions from the audience. When I saw her there were two guys up front who didn’t stop talking and she handled hecklers as well as anybody I’ve ever seen. She was definitely not amused by them at all. But if you like Joan, she’s very funny, she’s very witty, she’s very raunchy in this. So if your sensibilities are going to be offended, you may want to just catch her on the Apprentice, or her new documentary. But if you like Joan, up close, personal and uncensored, this is your venue. You can get tickets at spincyclenyc.com. Four Stars.
