Irving Berlin’s White Christmas
Irving Berlin’s White Christmas – Theater Review
Irving Berlin’s Christmas classic revolves around two show business buddies who perform in a Vermont inn and find their perfect mates. The score includes such Berlin classics as “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep,” “Sisters,” “How Deep is the Ocean,” and the title song.
If you view it as a Christmas spectacle, I think it holds up okay. If you view it as theater, it’s got some problems. It’s missing a sparkle. It was just too slow. The cast doesn’t have the twinkle that you want from this particular piece. The problem is, is its just an “okay” production. But if you’re looking for a Christmas experience, I think White Christmas will work fine.”
