I’m Glad My Mother is Alive

JOY REVIEW

It was actually written by a father and son and is based on true events. The young boy, who’s given up as a toddler for adoption and then becomes a troubled teenager, decides he wants to track down his birth mother. He finds her, pregnant, living with a small child, and introduces himself. He starts sort of an odd relationship with her, and this, we know, is not going to end well. It’s an amazing performance, but not a terrifically nice movie. So I’ll give it two stars.
