Hot Tub Time Machine
Hot Tub Time Machine – Movie Review
Four guy friends, all of them bored with their adult lives, travel back to their respective 80s heydays thanks to a time-bending hot tub.
HOT TUB TIME MACHINE; to a certain extent, the title tells you everything. This is John Cusack at his most appealing. He has two friends, including Rob Corddry and Clark Duke. One was a nephew who lives in the basement. And poor John is a sad sack who’s girlfriend has just left him. Rod plays a suicidal lunatic called a Violator. The third friend is a dog trainer. It turns out they decide to take their suicidal friend away for a weekend to revive his sagging spirit. They sort of end up in a hot tub that takes them instantly back to 1986 and who they really were. I think how high you are when you’re watching this movie may determine whether or not you like it. It’s crude, rude, and raunchy. I didn’t actually hate it, but a lot of people around me did. I think this movie was made for 25 year old males. There are vomit scenes, there are very crude sex scenes. There are some, yes, naked breasts. I know you guys are all salivating to see this. I’d give it probably two stars for energy, but there’s some people who think that’s being overly generous.
