Headhunters

JOY REVIEW

Headhunters has an incredibly talented Scandinavian cast that stars Aksel Hennie as Roger, who’s basically somewhat of a scoundrel. He is the recruiting guy for a large international corporation, and he has a beautiful wife that he feels very insecure about. The movie opens with him saying that he’s only 5’6”, and it turns out that the way that he keeps this beautiful, smart woman who is much taller than he is, is by stealing art work. What follows is a very convoluted plot — one of my colleagues said that they had to see it twice to figure it out, which I think was not the case; I felt it was very straightforward, but this is a terrific movie. It’s got everything you want in a movie. It’s got beautiful people, it’s got tension, it’s got good guys, and it’s got bad guys. It’s got twists, it’s got turns; this is really a terrific movie. Some idiot is going to get it in his head to make it an American movie and put Steve Carrell in it and make it horrible, but for now, go see this one. Even though it’s subtitled, it’s still terrific. Five stars.
