A 16-year-old who was raised by her father to be the perfect assassin is dispatched on a mission across Europe, tracked by a ruthless intelligence agent and her operatives.
Hanna is the new movie with Saorise Ronan. You’ll probably remember her as the young girl from Atonement. Here, she carries the movie. She plays the daughter of kind of a wild mountain man and the first 45 minutes of the movie is set in some sort of mysterious tundra where she shoots reindeer and fights her father. And then we find out that her father’s actually an ex-agent and her mother may be looking for her. This is a movie about conundrums on top of questions on top of riddles. The first hour of the movie is just terrific. And it’s not a bad movie at all. It’s well directed and the acting is terrific and Kate Blanchette plays the evil witch. I’d give this three and a half stars.
