Good Friends – Feinstein’s at Loews Regency
Good Friends – Feinstein’s at Loews Regency – Theater Review
“Good Friends” features Michael Feinstein and Christine Ebersole performing classic standards and Broadway hits by Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Rodgers & Hart and Jerry Herman, in addition to never-before-heard rarities from the Great American Songbook. Feinstein’s longtime Musical Director John Oddo leads the all-star band.
Michael Feinstein and Christine Ebersole performance of “Good Friends” at Feinstein’s Lowe’s Regency is really fun. The two of them have voices that are surprisingly similar and they’re both charming. I would have really preferred that they did some more traditional duets because their voices are so close in harmony, and there are so many wonderful duets from Broadway shows, I think it would’ve been terrific, but Cabaret in of itself is just really a lot of fun because you’re so close to somebody. The food has gotten better. Still a bit pricey, but for a special event, nothing beats people up close and personal. For those of you who are fans of Michael, and whom among us is not, he’ll be back the whole month of December with the 17-piece band, and then doing a New Year’s Eve show with Barbara Cooke. Something definitely to look forward to at the end of the year!
