Girls Night: The Musical – Theater Review

SYNOPSIS

Girls Night: THe Musical, the UK hit has earned rave reviews playing packed houses since its Off-Broadway premiere. It’s been called “Desperate Housewives’ meets Mamma Mia”, and “as funny and outrageous as Sex in the City”.

JOY’S REVIEW

“Girls Night, the Musical” is in a basement that holds about 200 women, and the reason I say women is because it’s primarily women. I had a male escort and there were three other hapless guys there. But this is basically a show for and about women. It’s got a great cast of really talented people. Some great songs including “I am what I am”, “It’s raining men”, “I will survive”. You get the point. The audience is encouraged to participate and sing and dance and drink themselves into a stupor. This is perfect for a bachelorette party or divorce party, or maybe even gay guy party. And my guy actually enjoyed himself after getting over his initial squeamishness. Bring your boa and have a good time. Three stars.
