After 10 years, “Girl Talk” radio show must end, and the girls are going out in style! Over the course of the final broadcast the two sparing hosts, their favorite sex therapist guest and the shows neurotic producer learn that men and jobs can come and go, but girlfriends are forever!
This is one of those — I would call them Cosmopolitan Musicals, not because they are sophisticated, but because they improve with a lot of alcohol, and they are mostly for women. Hence the term Cosmopolitan, you know, from Sex in the City. It’s not that the cast isn’t talented, because they are, and it’s not that the songs aren’t fun. From Hot Stuff, Let’s Get Loud, Before He Cheats, In These Shoes, I Am Out of Love, The Macarena, I’m So Excited. I mean, the audience is certainly up and bouncing around and the cast is howling, it’s just I think this is literally a girl’s night out, which is certainly in the same Cosmopolitan Musical genre. I would probably give it two and a half stars. I mean, it’s fun. I actually took a male date. There were some other males there. But, it is what it is, and if this is your cup of tea — a lot of women getting together, letting their hair down and dancing their little butts off appeals to you, then off you go.
