GI Joe – Movie Review
An elite military unit comprised of special operatives known as G.I. Joe, operating out of The Pit, takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer.
“GI Joe” is something I caught up with in movie theaters; I actually paid to see it, which I would highly recommend that you not do. They did not screen that for critics, but I decided since it was a movie that achieved number one status for at least a week, maybe I should see what all the fuss was about. And the fuss is about 12-year-old boys watching things blow up. This is a movie that is completely predictable. The only thing that makes it at all different is that they basically started with a comic book and thought, whoa, I bet we could re-create that stuff with CGI, which they could. Plot? Who cares. Character development? Nah. Everything is told in flashbacks. It is ridiculously simplistic to the point that you’ll be actually giggling at some of the lines. The women are all buxom, right out of comic books. It’s just a ridiculous movie, but if you happen to be a 12-year-old boy, wowee. One star.
