Alright, let me tell you up-front, I am not a fan of scary movies where things jump out at me because I always jump and hit the ceiling and scream. But, this is Colin Farrell playing the undead and how good is that! Toni Collette plays his next-door neighbor and Anton Yelchin plays the skeptical neighbor when his friend, Christopher Mintz-Passe, tells him that there are really vampires around by noting that young men, interestingly enough, keep disappearing from their high school class. There’s no reason for this movie to be in 3D, certainly the first three quarters of it, although the last fifteen minutes are with 3D-esque exploding bodies. David Tennant nearly steals the movie by playing a fake vampire hunter in Las Vegas, where vampires hide because everybody looks pale and hangs out at night and sleeps all day. I thought this was a really fun movie. I went in kicking and screaming and came out giggling and screaming I suppose. So, I give it three and a half stars.
