Easy Virtue – Movie Review

SYNOPSIS

A young Englishman marries a glamorous American. When he brings her home to meet the parents, she arrives like a blast from the future – blowing their entrenched British stuffiness out the window.

JOY’S REVIEW

I see an awful lot of movies. You figured that out, didn’t you? This is one of my favorites from this year. It focuses on Jessica Biel, who plays a modern women. Colin Firth plays her intended father. And guess what? Kristen Scott Thomas plays a mom. What a great cast. The idea is that John Whittaker is a young Englishman. He falls madly in love with a glamorous, sexy, American women. They marry all of a sudden, and then they go to visit the parents. All hell breaks loose. I don’t want to tell you very much about it, but make sure you stay for the final several minutes, because there is the sexiest tango that you’ve ever seen on film. Love it. It’s based on a play by Noel Coward. Great cast. Wonderful scenery. Not to be missed. Five stars.
