Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop is a documentary that strangely enough, follows Conan O’Brian on the six months where he wasn’t allowed to be on television, and so he did a 44 city tour of the United States doing a little stand-up, a little music, a little whining, and there was a camera crew of basically one guy who followed him around for the entire time. If you love Conan O’Brien you’ll probably love the film. If you’re not crazy about Conan O’Brien you’re probably not going to be crazy about the film. I sort of fell somewhere in the middle. I thought he’s an interesting guy. I think he’s smart, I think he’s a lot crankier than people give him credit for being. So what can I tell you? The movie documents what I think most of us know about comedians, which is most of them are somewhat depressed, and working for them is probably not a great idea. The documentary for what it is gives you a clear idea of who this man is and how exhausting it is to go on the road. If nothing else it made me understand that it’s not just me that they have try to have meet and greets before you go into a performance, and then once you’re there you sort of have to give it your all. So I think if you’re at all in the public eye, you may sort of get more of a kick out of this, or as I said, if you just adore Conan. For the rest of people, they’re probably not going to be all that amused. I give it two and a half stars.
