Cadillac Records – DVD Review

“Cadillac Records” chronicles the rise of Chess Records and its recording artists. In the tale of sex, violence, race and rock and roll in 1950’s Chicago, the film follows the exciting but turbulent lives of some of America’s musical legends including Muddy Waters, Leornard Chess, Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf, Etta James and Chuck Berry.

Pick of the Week!

“The movie is based on the idea of how Black music became mainstream. Some people didn’t like it but I thought it was a really fun movie. This has Adrian Brody and Beyonce Knowles as Etta James, but Mos Def really runs away with the movie, he was terrific. The music itself is worth the price of the admission.”
