Bad Lieutenant – Movie Review

The remake follows Terence McDonough, as he investigates the killing of five Senegalese immigrants

Bad Lieutenant is a remake of the film that starred Harvey Keitel that was set in New York about a cop who was certainly no angel, but he was a good cop in that he really tried to solve a crime, but had a major drug issue, was consorting with a prostitute, was perfectly willing to strong arm people. Basically this is a replay with the nuttiness of Warner Herzog abetted by Nicholas Cage and Val Kilmer. Val Kilmer, believe it or not is the person most under control during this movie, which comes as some what of a shock, and it’s great to see him on film again. Nicholas Cage acts with his toupee and his eyebrows and yelling. At some point he’s hallucinating iguana. This movie made absolutely no sense to me. That’s not true. It made sense, but it’s not a very enjoyable movie. You’re much better off renting the original. One star.
