An Unlikely Weapon
An Unlikely Weapon – Movie Review
The story of famed photographer, Eddie Adams. His story focuses on his work during Vietnam war, and the effects on a culture
“An Unlikely Weapon” focuses on Eddie Adams, whose name I did not know, but I certainly knew his most famous picture, which is of a South Vietnamese General shooting a young Vietnamese man in a plaid shirt. Probably one of the best-known pictures ever taken. Adam’s also has taken pictures of movie stars. He’s done huge numbers of covers for Parade Magazine, and he’s kind of a combination of curmudgeon and softy, and this is his story about how a picture can change the world. It’s an absolutely fascinating history, certainly nothing to be missed. It’s already won awards at several film festivals. This is a story of one man’s almost accidental fame. I don’t think he’d call himself a hero, but in some ways he is, and you’ll see why when you see an “Unlikely Weapon”. Four stars.
