JOY’S REVIEW

An Evening with Judy Collins at the Carlyle Cafe: If you would like a blast from the past, get yourself over to Cafe Carlyle and see the incredibly beautiful, incredibly talented, Judy Collins. She looks as gorgeous as she ever did. I have never seen a woman who has long white hair that still looks beautiful and pretty as opposed to most gray hair that looks like something that should have been shaved off a long time ago. Her voice is just as high and clear and beautiful as it ever was. She is just as charming as she ever was, and okay, admittedly, we are both Colorado girls. She wasn’t born there and neither was I, but both of us grew up there and both of us have great affection and still have family there. Cafe Carlyle is not inexpensive, but it’s a treat, and everybody there was just enchanted by her. She will be there for six weeks. So, get yourself over to the Cafe. I had a great time. If nothing else, going on opening night is a really fun thing to do, and I would give it at least four and a half stars. If it’s not opening night, you probably get at least four stars out of it. You will love all the songs and you will love being up close and personal with Judy Collins. It’s a fabulous evening.
