An Error of the Moon
A fictional portrait of the brothers Edwin and John Wilkes Booth, the rockstars of their day. Edwin tells his tale of a man consumed by sexual jealousy, of bitter sibling rivalry, and the mad obsession that sparked the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
‘An Error of the Moon’ is actually an interesting story about Edwin Booth and John Wilkes Booth. Edwin being probably the best-known actor of his generation, and his brother, John Wilkes, being President Lincoln’s assasin. This is a story about jealousy, madness, and the brothers Booth. I actually liked this. I thought it was interesting idea. One minor problem I had was that the actor playing Edwin is a little bit mannered in his portrayal. Other than that, I enjoyed it. It is certainly a speculation piece given that there is no way of really knowing what went on between the brothers, but provocative nevertheless. The staging was pretty interesting. So I’d give it three stars.
