A Woman, A Gun, and A Noodle Shop
A Woman, A Gun, and A Noodle Shop – Movie Review
The owner of a Chinese noodle shop’s scheme to murder his adulterous wife and her lover goes awry.
A Woman, A Gun, and A Noodle Shop is a Chinese remake of Blood Simple one of the Cohen brother’s first movies that was a combination of hilarious and horrifying. Very violent, but kind of weirdly funny at the same time. In this case, between the weirdness of the plot and the Chinese reinterpretation, the homage either works or it doesn’t, partially depending on your capacity for farce as well as Cohen sensibility. The acting, on the other hand, is actually pretty good. You know, I’d give it two stars.
