A Dangerous Method
A Dangerous Method is a film by David Cronenberg who did Crash, among other things, starring Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen as Sigmund Freud, Michael Fassbender as Carl Jung and Vincent Cassel as Otto Gross. Now look, I’m a psychologist, so this should have been mother’s milk to me. However, it was paint drying, and the Jung Foundation is not going to be pleased with this. I mean, I knew that Jung had a rather unsavory political path, though I’m not sure I knew that he seduced patients and things of that sort. So that part was sort of interesting in a horrifying kind of way, but basically this is not a very interesting movie and it really should have been. I mean, these are two of the great minds of the 20th century and it was just very slow. So I give it two stars, but mostly because my psych professors would be unhappy with me if I gave it any less, but it was really a disappointment.
