4,000 Miles is a play by Amy Herzog, which is at Lincoln Center. Starring the great Mary Louise Wilson and Gabriel Ebert — well, Mary Louise is terrific. The rest of the cast is okay. The story is kind of a ne’er-do-well grandson crashes with his grandmother in Greenwich Village. I suppose bonding ensues. This play left me cold, to be quite honest. I would watch Mary Louise Wilson read the phone book, and she’s okay, but she just had nothing to do here. I guess the 4,000 Miles either refers to the fact that he came that far from Seattle to New York on his bicycle or they’re that many miles apart or something. I don’t know. Did nothing for me. One star.
