Keep Her Memory Alive
Dr. Joy To The World
In addition to her decades of helping callers and listeners to her radio show, Dr. Joy Browne was deeply devoted to philanthropy and volunteerism. Dr. Joy believed in a “hand-up” not a “hand-out” and would personally volunteer and financially contribute to a number of organizations whose missions focused on helping people change their own lives and the lives of children for the better.
Dr. Joy supported arts, education, health and human services, food and housing shelters, resources for disaster relief, women’s issues, and to counteract domestic violence. In 2000, she created the Dr. Joy to the World Foundation to support organizations and programs in New York City, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., Denver, and across the world.
To honor Dr. Joy, the Foundation will carry on through the faithful stewardship of Dr. Joy’s daughter and sister. Dr. Joy’s dreams to help make the world a better place were big. In the years to come, Dr. Joy had plans to expand her foundation and take a more active and focused role providing resources for education to at at-risk and under-served populations. She was interested in helping students who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals.
In lieu of flowers and in her loving memory, Dr. Joy’s family is asking that donations be made to the Dr. Joy to the World Foundation.
Donations can be made on this site or made directly to the foundation at:

A Heartfelt Memorial Tribute to the career,
life, and times of Dr. Joy Browne
On Friday September 9th a group of friends and colleagues got together (virtually) and presented the radio world with a three-hour, heartfelt memorial tribute to the career, life and times of Dr. Joy Browne. It was carried on her show on the Genesis Communications Network between 12:00 noon ET and 3:00 pm ET and is now available to an even larger audience as a set of three podcasts on the network’s website. I had the honor of moderating the parade of amazing conversations and personalities.
We all shine on...like the moon and the stars and the sun...we all shine on...come on and on and on...Love You Mom!
